El LALS Classical 15 EX-II represents the entrance to the universe of the large-diameter reference speakers, combining an imposing sound scale with extreme sensitivity and exceptional tonal control. It is a system designed for those seeking realism, dynamics and physical presence, without sacrificing refinement or musical coherence.

In its mid-high frequency section, it incorporates a 55 cm horizontal wooden speaker, computer-calculated, coupled to a 50 mm titanium compression driver. This development, compared with previous generations, allows for continuous playback from 800 Hz to 25 kHz, with a seamlessly integrated transition between midrange and treble.

The result is a sound open, powerful and extremely articulate, capable of reproducing full-bodied voices, instruments with real texture and a soundstage of natural proportions.

Fast, powerful and effortlessly commanding

The grave is maintained by a 15-inch woofer with a paper cone, made from a fibreglass and paper composite and treated fabric suspension. This design prioritises a short excursion and extremely high linearity, allowing ultrafast transients, absolute control and a sense of immediate impact, a far cry from the heavy or sluggish bass of other large-diameter systems.

The crossover filter uses high-quality bespoke components and set the crossover frequency to a very low 800 Hz, favouring seamless integration with the speaker and a continuous, wide and perfectly structured soundstage.

Extreme sensitivity and electronic versatility

With a 98 dB sensitivity, the Classical 15 EX-II can operate with absolute ease even with very low-power valve amplifiers (from 7 W). At the same time, it delivers a spectacular response with powerful amplification, offering even greater control, authority and dynamic range.

Its sound is warm, lively and very immersive, with a sense of physical presence that is clearly reminiscent of benchmark systems from historic brands. It is no coincidence that its sound signature is compared to Daniel Hertz or TAD.

Fine-tuning for each room

Like any great horn system, the Classical 15 EX-II incorporates a treble attenuator on the rear panel, allowing the tonal balance to be adjusted to suit the room, the electronics or personal preferences. An essential tool for achieving seamless integration in real-world environments.

Handcrafted construction and dedicated support

The enclosure is made of Russian birch plywood, which is significantly stiffer and more stable than conventional MDF, reducing resonance and improving overall clarity. Each unit is hand-built and finished in Taiwan, with a level of finish typical of very high-end products.

The system is completed with dedicated mounts included, specifically designed to provide a solid and stable base, positioning the speaker at the optimum height and enabling the system to perform to the highest standard.
