Description
LALS Classical 12 SE-II it is one of the most balanced and ambitious models in the entire LALS range. A large-format floorstanding loudspeaker that combines extreme efficiency, realistic scale and a level of sonic refinement typical of reference systems, maintaining a classic and timeless aesthetic.
In its treble and midrange section we find a 37 cm horizontal wooden horn, computer-calculated, coupled to a 50 mm titanium compression driver, a substantial improvement over the previous 44 mm version. This update makes it possible to cover an extraordinarily wide frequency range, from 800 Hz to 25 kHz, achieving an exceptional balance between clarity, tonal density and naturalness.
The result is a sound open, fluid and extraordinarily articulate, with rich and expressive mids and an extensive, clean treble that is never aggressive.
Deep, controlled and with great authority
The bass section is handled by a 12-inch woofer with a paper cone, made from a fibreglass and paper composite, with a treated fabric suspension. This design prioritises a short travel and extremely high linearity, allowing ultrafast transients and an extremely precise response, a far cry from the slow or bloated bass of more conventional designs.
The crossover filter uses high-quality bespoke components, with a low crossover frequency located at 950 Hz, which promotes seamless integration between horn and woofer and a continuous, expansive and highly coherent soundstage.
High efficiency and valve compatibility
With a sensitivity of 96 dB, the Classical 12 SE-II can fill the room with absolute ease, even with very low-power valve amplifiers (from 7 W). At the same time, it supports powerful amplification, delivering even greater control, dynamics and authority when pushed to its limits.
Its sound presentation is warm, lively and very immersive, with a wide soundstage and a sense of physical presence that is clearly reminiscent of far more expensive reference systems.
It is no coincidence that his musical style is compared to Daniel Hertz or TADthe Classical 12 SE-II offers a combination that is very hard to find between realism, musicality and emotion.
Fine-tuning and adaptation to the venue
Like any great loudspeaker system, the Classical 12 SE-II features a treble attenuator on the rear panel, allowing precise adjustment of the tonal balance according to the room, electronics, or listener's preferences. A key tool for achieving seamless integration into any home environment.
Handcrafted construction and high-quality materials
The enclosure is built in Russian birch plywood, notably more rigid and stable than MDF, which reduces resonances and improves overall clarity. Each unit is made and finished by hand in Taiwan, featuring selected natural veneers that enhance its classic and elegant character.
The result is a speaker that transmits solidity, consistency and a long-term vision, both in terms of sound and construction.
