Two N8 Pro models available: one (N8 PRO-CLK) with an external 10 MHz Word Clock input and another (N8 PRO) without it.

Unique and advanced designs

System structure

• TCXO Clock (10MHz): eliminates irrelevant frequencies and generates a pure clock. Ultra-low phase noise and high-precision signal output as a clock source for the Ethernet switch system.
• TCXO clock power supply circuit:
  power filter technology, which filters out crosstalk and noise. The purified power is then supplied to the TCXO module.
• Power supply circuit for a switching system:
• A low-noise voltage regulator circuit capable of handling a wide dynamic range of power. It features a highly efficient circuit design and a fast response time.
• Exclusive, bespoke Silent Angel power supply module:
  AC-to-DC power supply module with a wide dynamic range. A safe, stable protection circuit with low ripple, well shielded by a heat sink for students.
• AC power supply filter circuit:
  a high-isolation common-mode choke circuit for the AC power input to prevent acoustic interference from the AC power supplies of other devices or power systems.
• Connect to the optional linear power supply.
  DC jack for external 12V DC.
• Reception of the external clock input * (gold-plated, at 10 MHz).

Designed for HD music streaming
The Bonn N8 Pro creates a dedicated Hi-Fi network zone to effectively isolate your audio devices from the rest of the digital traffic, thereby eliminating noise and transmitting data with extreme synchronisation precision. The implementation of an isolated “network ecosystem” for audio eliminates degradation caused by the barrage of network interference and latency issues caused by bandwidth-intensive activities from PCs and other connected devices.

Dedicated clock module, TCXO: Silent Angel’s TCXO (temperature-compensated crystal oscillator) is more accurate than the crystal clocks found in other network switches, thereby reducing latency issues and the effects of jitter.

Improvement of the fluctuation effect: Distortion is a common by-product of high-frequency network packet transmission. The Bonn N8 Pro reduces jitter to 369 ps, whilst typical switches have a jitter of 705 ps.

Optimised for music applications

• Optimised for Roon infrastructure; for example, supporting a network comprising a Rhein Z1 as a Roon Core server or a Munich M1 as a Roon Ready player.
• Optimised for high-resolution streaming services such as Tidal, Qobuz, Spotify and more.
• Optimised for playing music collections from NAS (Network Attached Storage). Works well with several brands, including QNAP, Synology and WD NAS.

Power supply
Connect the Bonn NX to the Silent Angel Forester F2 linear power supply (which provides dual 12-volt DC outputs) to further improve power delivery and stability.
