The LHY Audio LPS-80 Dual it is a high-quality linear power supply developed to improve the performance of two digital audio components through a cleaner, more stable and quieter direct current.

Its most important feature is the incorporation of fully independent DC outputs, without interference between them. In this way, a single source can simultaneously power two devices, even when they operate at different voltages. It is a particularly practical solution for combining, for example, a streamer and a DAC, a network switch and an external clock, or a digital interface and a fibre-optic converter.

Unlike conventional switch-mode power supplies, the LPS-80 Dual uses a Noratel toroidal transformer, rectification using high-current Schottky diodes and four very low-noise LT3086 regulators. This architecture provides a more stable power supply and reduces electrical contamination that can reach the unit's digital and analogue circuits.

A major improvement for digital audio

Streamers, switches, DACs, clocks and converters work with signals that are especially sensitive to electrical noise. Although their original power supply units fulfil their function properly, they are usually designed with more regard for cost and size than for maximum sound performance.

The LPS-80 Dual allows you to replace two of those power supplies with a single linear power supply of true audiophile quality. Its residual noise of less than 50 µV, its low internal resistance and high transient response help ensure that each device receives the energy it needs quickly and stably.

Audiophile-grade build

Inside, we find a four-layer printed circuit board with thicker outer copper and a gold finish. Vishay BC electrolytic filtering capacitors, low-resistance Schottky rectifiers and the bottom dissipation system help to maintain a stable current delivery and a suitable operating temperature.

Furthermore, it incorporates protection against short circuits, overcurrent, and overtemperature, offering safe operation for both the power supply itself and the connected devices.

The LPS-80 Dual comes supplied with two oxygen-free copper DC cables: one terminated with a 2.1 mm DC connector and the other with a 2.5 mm DC connector.
