Jadis DPMC EVO

The emotion of vinyl, signed by Jadis

El Jadis DPMC EVO It is a valve MM/MC phono stage created for those who understand that vinyl is not just a format, but a way of listening to music with a different depth, another texture and a different sense of time. In an era dominated by digital immediacy, the DPMC EVO champions the pleasure of placing a record on the turntable, lowering the stylus and letting the music emerge with body, breath and presence.

Jadis has always had a very particular way of understanding high fidelity. It does not seek surgical coldness or soulless neutrality. Its sound is born from a very French tradition: refinement, timbral beauty, handcrafted construction and a musicality that does not need to impose itself to convince. The DPMC EVO maintains that philosophy and takes it into the most delicate terrain of all: the amplification of the signal coming from a phono cartridge.

This preamp is designed to work with both cartridges MM how MC, and incorporates a level control that allows for very straightforward integration into various systems. Its gain of 66 dB makes it a serious option for low-output cartridges, whilst maintaining the flexibility needed to adapt to very different analogue setups. The input allows you to select impedances of 48 kΩ, 1 kΩ, 300 Ω and 100 Ω, facilitating a better fit with the capsule used.

A real evolution, not just a name change

The version EVO introduces a revised internal architecture. Jadis talks about a new printed circuit board and a redesigned component layout to improve internal isolation and reduce interference. The wiring has also been redesigned, both in structure and positioning, aiming for a cleaner, more stable signal with a better signal-to-noise ratio.

One of the most important changes is the use of valves 7025 instead of traditional ECC83s. The 7025s are low-microphony versions, especially suited for applications where noise and vibrations must be kept under control. In a phono preamplifier, where the initial signal is extremely weak, this decision makes complete sense. There are no fireworks here: just craftsmanship, experience, and attention to detail.

The DPMC EVO uses 4 x 7025 valves, along with 1 EL84 y 1 EF86, in an architecture entirely oriented towards preserving the harmonic richness and inherent musicality of valves. Its valve-regulated power supply and the new “C”-core circuit transformer seek to provide stability, speed and dynamic headroom, which is especially important with demanding MC cartridges.

Sound: body, silence and life

The Jadis DPMC EVO does not aim to turn vinyl into a flat, aseptic photograph. Its goal is different: to recover the feeling of a musical event. Vocals appear with fleshiness, acoustic instruments retain their wood and air, and the soundstage unfolds with that naturalness that makes one stop listening to the equipment and return to the record.

The midrange, as often happens in the best valve designs, is the emotional centre of the unit. Vocals, brass, strings and subtle room nuances are presented with a highly recognisable texture. But this is not a soft or old-fashioned sound in the bad sense. The DPMC EVO aims to combine that classic Jadis beauty with a quieter, more precise construction that is better suited to today's demands.

Jadis puts it in a very interesting way: it does not chase a dead silence, but a living silence. To put it more down to earth: a lot of work has gone into reducing background noise, without sterilising the music. And that, in a valve phono stage, is a delicate boundary. When it is done well, the result is not simply “less noise”; it is more music.

What system does it make sense for

The Jadis DPMC EVO is a natural choice for mid-to-high and high-end analogue systems, especially when the user is looking for a phono stage with musical character, serious build quality and a classic aesthetic. It fits very well with quality turntables and cartridges, both MM and MC, and can be an excellent way to elevate an integrated amplifier that does not feature a phono section up to the standard of the rest of the system.

It also makes a lot of sense for anyone who already owns a significant vinyl collection and wants to rediscover it with electronics that don't treat the record as just another source, but as the centre of a complete musical experience.

The DPMC EVO measures 455 x 320 x 125 mm, weight 14 kg, consume 30 VA and it is available in a finish Gold o Silver, with or without volume control. It also includes options such as a remote control and colour configuration.

Conclusion Lyric Audio

El Jadis DPMC EVO it is a phono stage for those who wish to listen to their vinyl with beauty, texture and musical truth. It is not a device designed to impress with numbers, but rather to accompany for years to come those who still understand listening as an intimate, unhurried and deeply human act.

At Lyric Audio Élite we see it as a very special piece: classical in presence, refined in construction and profoundly musical in intent. A phono stage for systems where vinyl is not decorative nostalgia, but a living source of emotion.

Jadis DPMC EVO: high-end analogue audio understood as art.
