Description

El DENAFRIPS HERMES 12th it is a high-end digital-to-digital converter (DDC), designed to improve the quality of the digital audio signal in high-fidelity systems. This device receives digital signals from various sources, processes them and delivers an optimised signal, significantly reducing jitter and improving temporal precision.

Key features:

  • Proprietary FPGA-based DSP processing architecture: It allows precise and efficient handling of digital signals, improving audio quality.
  • FIFO buffer and reclocking with an oven-controlled crystal oscillator (OCXO): Minimise jitter, ensuring a clean and stable digital output signal.
  • Versatile digital inputs: It accepts signals via USB, SPDIF (Coaxial, TOSLink) and AES/EBU, offering flexibility in connecting with various sources.
  • Multiple digital outputs: It provides SPDIF, TOSLink, AES/EBU and I²S output formats, facilitating integration with a wide range of DACs and other audio equipment.
  • Precision linear power supply: Equipped with low-noise regulators and an oversized O-Core transformer, it supplies clean and stable power to the digital circuitry.

Technical specifications:

  • DSD support: Up to DSD512 on USB input and I²S output; DSD64 (DoP) on Coaxial, AES and Optical inputs and outputs.
  • PCM Support: Up to 24-bit/768kHz on USB input; up to 24-bit/384kHz on I²S output; up to 24-bit/192kHz on other inputs and outputs.
  • Digital inputs: USB Audio Class 2.0, SPDIF Coaxial, Optical TOSLink and AES/EBU.
  • Digital outputs: Coaxial S/PDIF, Optical TOSLINK, AES/EBU (x2), I²S HDMI LVDS and I²S RJ45 LVCMOS.
  • External clock input: 75Ω BNC, supports frequencies of 45.1548MHz and 49.152MHz.
  • Power consumption: ≤20W.
  • Dimensions: 330mm (Width) x 240mm (Depth) x 50mm (Height).
  • Weight: 4.5 kg.

The HERMES 12th is designed to integrate seamlessly with most DACs available on the market, significantly enhancing the sound performance of the audio system. Its robust construction and the use of high-quality components ensure exceptional durability and reliability.

For audio enthusiasts looking to optimise the quality of their system, the DENAFRIPS HERMES 12th presents itself as a high-level solution, combining technological innovation with an elegant and functional design.

1 review for Denafrips Hermes 12th. DDC

  1. Javier M.M. (verified owner) –

Following the great experience with the Denafrips Arce, I decided to complete my system with the Denafrips Hermes 12th, a DDC (Digital-to-Digital Converter) that promised to improve the quality of the digital signal even further. And the truth is that it has exceeded all my expectations.

From the very first moment, the difference is noticeable: the music flows with greater precision, the soundstage expands and the background is even quieter, allowing every nuance and micro-detail to emerge with impressive clarity. The signal synchronisation and stability are exceptional, delivering a more natural sound, free from harshness or listening fatigue.

In addition, the build quality is outstanding, as is usual with Denafrips. The combination of the Hermes 12th with the Arce has proved to be an incredible upgrade to my system, taking the digital experience to a level I didn't think possible.

For those seeking maximum purity in digital conversion and a more refined listening experience, the Denafrips Hermes 12th is a key piece.

    Javier
