Description
Garlubidor PHANTOM
R-2R DAC
El Phantom is the gateway to Garlubidor's digital universe. A DAC conceived using classical engineering, with no shortcuts or gimmicks, designed for those seeking real musicality, stability and sonic coherence from the very entry-level.
Its architecture 24-bit R-2R, controlled by a dedicated FPGA, is designed to deliver a natural, fluid and organic sound, a far cry from the forced, analytical character that dominates much of today’s digital audio. The Phantom does not set out to impress in the first few minutes: it seeks to accompany for hours, without fatigue, without harshness, letting the music breathe.
El Phantom Garlubidor incorporates RCA and XLR analogue outputs, which means it can be used directly as preamplifier as part of a high-fidelity system.
Thanks to this dual functionality, the Phantom can be connected directly to a power amplifier, simplifying the audio chain and reducing the number of components in the system. The result is a shorter signal path, greater transparency and a cleaner, more natural reproduction of music.
The diet, based on low-noise O-type transformer and careful energy management, which is one of the cornerstones of the design. Added to this is a system of Reclocking with an OCXO and a FIFO buffer, designed to reduce jitter and ensure a stable signal even in demanding systems. Everything is designed to ensure the DAC operates smoothly, precisely and with control.
Crafted from high-quality brushed aluminium, with a robust yet elegant design, the Phantom blends seamlessly into any hi-fi system. An honest, well-made product with a clear ambition: to deliver truly high-quality sound without gimmicks or empty rhetoric.
The PHANTOM acts as a DAC and digital preamplifier, receiving the signal from a computer, streamer or external digital source via USB, coaxial, optical, AES or I²S. Ideal for Qobuz- or Tidal-based systems with a carefully selected source.
