El LHY Audio FMC it is a network bridge developed specifically for digital audio systems. Its purpose is to transform the RJ45 Ethernet connection into an optical signal, creating effective electrical isolation between the router, the switch and the delicate playback components.

Optical fibre prevents electrical noise generated by routers, computers, switched-mode power supplies and other network-connected devices from reaching the streamer or music player. This makes it possible to enjoy a quieter background, greater clarity, better instrumental separation and a more natural and relaxed presentation.

Unlike conventional computer media converters, the LHY FMC incorporates a clock High-precision SC-cut OCXO, responsible for regenerating the data signal with high temporal stability. Its linear power supply uses a Talema toroidal transformer, high-speed rectification and three independent LT3042 + PNP regulation stages with an extremely low noise level.

The RJ45 port features specific isolation and is complemented by a digital isolation transformer to prevent interference from returning to the connected equipment. The entire assembly is housed in a solid CNC-machined aluminium chassis, which protects the various circuits against interference and mechanical resonances.

The LHY Audio FMC can be used with a switch that has an SFP output. To create a complete connection between two devices with RJ45 connections, two units, two compatible SFP modules and the corresponding fibre optic cable are required. Official LHY Audio information
