The Model 30/12 is SME's former flagship turntable, once considered «the best turntable of all time» and for many years regarded as the global reference standard turntable. These accolades stem from ingenious design, precision engineering and fundamental physics. The net result is outstanding performance in terms of detail, resolution and neutrality, with a dynamic range that does justice to the original sound.

The 30/12 model effortlessly controls and manages vibration, resonance, mechanical energy and electrical fields. Weighing over 50 kg, it is significant in relation to mass and density. The main and secondary chassis resists low-frequency bending, while high-frequency resonance is attenuated by efficient extensive damping.

The 30/12 model is available with or without a tonearm. The tonearm version is the flagship SME Series V-12 with internal Crystal Cable wiring.
