I would never have considered acquiring this magnificent capsule were it not for my close and valued friendship with Francisco, who, with his knowledge and passion, fervently recommended it to me.
Throughout my many years of passion and experience in the world of high-fidelity audio, I have had the opportunity to explore and enjoy many great and renowned cartridges, but this one, in particular, has made a notable difference. After several months of use, I can state, with conviction, that its performance is outstanding. I would even dare to place it in a category of its own.
The build quality already indicates the product we are dealing with, with an attention to detail and materials that are almost impossible to find in this price range.
Its sound is exceptionally clear and detailed, but where it truly stands out is in its tonal richness and the depth of the soundstage it recreates. The combination with my Pass Labs XP 17 phono stage has turned out to be a perfect synergy.
I am deeply grateful to the entire Lyric team for their dedication and excellence, and especially to Francisco, whose vast experience and sound advice have been instrumental in my high-fidelity audio journey. His guidance has been invaluable, not only in choosing this cartridge, but in many other decisions over the years. His ability to understand and recommend the right equipment for my specific needs and tastes has been a gift that I have greatly appreciated. Thank you, Francisco, for enriching my world with your wisdom and your passion for music and high-quality sound.

I was trying to rate this capsule until I remembered the French word “épatante”, which means incredible, marvellous, grand, astonishing……..
The Skyanalog Reference replaces my previous top-tier cartridge. One from a highly reputed Japanese brand, very good (extremely good) and economical for the performance it offers. The Reference beats it in every aspect except perhaps in electronic music, where the Japanese one proves more «revealing». It beats it on price (more economical) and also with piano concerts, orchestral masses, jazz, and practically in whatever you «play» it with.
The piano notes are crystal clear at the top and resonant in the bass and, lo and behold, it excels in the lower mids which add colour to the vocals, saxophone, trumpet, piano and string section in classical music orchestras. It was the turn of Vanessa Fernandez's 2nd LP and it wasn't raining, it was thundering with nuanced, deep bass. The drummer tapped with a drumstick and I perceived that it was made of wood and that he struck the rim of the drum sharply while Vanessa's voice was completely believable right in front of me.
The soundstage is wide and deep, and in orchestras the wind instruments are more apparent even in the most intense passages of the strings.
This is starting to look like a poorly written review; what I'm trying to say is that from now on this is my go-to capsule and I'm coming from a very high standard.
I would like to thank Mr Francisco for his invaluable guidance. .

Brilliant by any measure, the best cartridge I have had although not the most expensive. In the flesh it is very elegant and the sound is very pleasing, so it undoubtedly competes with high-priced Japanese ones.
Very satisfied.
