Master cartridge designer Maseo Okada implements a new tapered aluminium cantilever with increased rigidity, resulting in a notable improvement in the transfer of the vinyl record's groove modulation to the cartridge generator.

The S series Mk II cartridges feature higher-specification parts, advanced materials and unique technical processes from Hana's higher-priced elite cartridge models, further enhancing Hana's «brilliant and gorgeous» sound.

Hana S Series Mk II cartridges use a new tapered aluminium cantilever with greater rigidity and a reduction in effective mass at the stylus tip. This results in greater clarity and enhanced music transfer from vinyl records to the cartridge generator.

The critical parts, including the yoke, pole pieces and gold-plated terminal pins, have been cryogenically treated to achieve a more natural sound.

The improved, non-resonant body shape, inspired by Hana's M series, is damped with a matt black elastomeric resin Soft Feel paint and features a brass top plate with threaded cartridge mounting fittings. The heavier Mk II cartridges offer better coupling and greater compatibility with a wider range of tonearms, improving bass and dynamics.

The SL MK II generator, found in the Umami Blue and the ML, incorporates an Alnico magnet and a cross coil that uses high-purity 30-micron copper wire with an 8Ω impedance. This improves the signal-to-noise ratio, reduces the moving mass for greater resolution and tracking capability, and optimises performance for a wider range of phono stages.
