PRODUCT INFORMATION

Class-leading new valve phono stage from Cayin Audio.

The impressive CS-6PH offers two Phono inputs, with MM and MC compatibility.

It is suitable for the most demanding cartridges as it supports the connection of turntables with two different cartridges or the connection of two turntables, each with different MM or MC cartridges.

With a single, simple selection on the front panel, you can choose to operate the MM or MC input.

Pipes

The CS-6PH is a flagship valve phono preamplifier and is built to the same incredibly high standards as Cayin's other valve amplifiers.

Two carefully selected Electro Harmonix 6922 valves are used for MC amplification, two JJ Electronics ECC83 valves are used for MM amplification, and they employ incredibly precise and tightly matched RIAA equalisation networks.

In the CS-6PH, the signal is routed to the 12AT7 which acts as the output stage.

Additionally, the CS-6PH employs two RCA 22DE4 valves for valve rectification to minimise the ripple effect of power interference.

Win

The LOW / MED / HIGH gain switch is conveniently located on the front of the CS-6PH and uses a very high-end contact assembly for the switching process.

The gain can also be changed from 40dB to 57dB, 61dB or 65dB.

Normally, 40dB is for MM and the 57dB, 61dB and 65dB gain settings are for MC

Input impedance / input capacitance:

Out of the factory, the CS-6PH is set to 40dB and 47k ohms / 47pF for MM.

It is the perfect starting point for most users.

With the CAP switch on the front panel, the MM input capacitance can be adjusted. You can choose to use 47pF or 100pF for MM, which covers almost all MM setups.

CS-6PH is also equipped with a flexible set of cartridge loading options for MC cartridges.

The input impedance of the MC input can be adjusted to meet the needs of any high-end MC cartridge at 47 ohms, 100 ohms, 200 ohms, 470 ohms and 1000 ohms.

The impedance selector is located to the right of the front panel and, again, switching is carried out via a very high-level switching circuit that ensures the signal path and therefore musicality is maintained at its absolute maximum performance across all load selections.

Filter

To achieve the best sound results, a special low-pass filter circuit has been used to prevent low-frequency deviation. On the front panel, there is a Rumble Switch where you can choose to have it in or out of the circuit.

Outings

CS-6PH offers a balanced analogue output and an unbalanced analogue output that allow you to connect to a wide range of high-end amplifiers.

Power supply

With decades of experience in the development of exclusive hand-built valve amplifiers, Cayin has always developed its own transformers using its own technology.

In the CS-6PH, Cayin has specifically designed an incredibly bespoke EI power transformer for the power supply, which allows the untapped potential of the design to be fully realised.

Combined with the ultra-low noise voltage regulation circuit, the CS-6PH guarantees a pure, low-noise and stable power output.

Each CS-6PH phono preamplifier is hand-assembled in the Cayin factory by highly qualified technicians.

A multi-step final quality and listening test is carried out, which not only checks every operation and every functionality, but also ensures that the sound lives up to the full Cayin reference standard.

Protection and long service life

To operate the system with maximum reliability, Cayin has included a very cleverly designed soft-start circuit.

Just wait about 60 seconds, and this gives the tubes the perfect warm-up period through a careful start-up procedure of increasing voltage application; this ensures the longevity of your valves and maximises performance.

Following this warm-up cycle, the CS-6PH will operate at its highest performance condition, which is the time to enjoy your LP collection to the full.
