Its high sensitivity and ease of driving make it an exceptionally versatile loudspeaker, compatible with both low-power valve amplifiers like with high-control solid-state or digital electronics.

Acoustic design and concept

The AT38 Pro takes a different approach passive three-way tri-amplified system, with professional transducers of Eighteen Sound, carefully integrated to cover the entire audible spectrum without strain or artificial overlap.

Each frequency range is reproduced by a specific driver, which always operates within its optimal range, resulting in lower distortion, greater clarity and a large-scale soundstage.

Transducers

  • Treble
Compression tweeter 1” neodymium Eighteen Sound driver, loaded by flag, working as 6 kHz to 20 kHz.
A crisp, clean, direct sound with no harshness, and very controlled dispersion.

  • Media
Compression driver for 1.4” Eighteen Sound, covering 400 Hz to 6 kHz.
Here lies a large part of the magic of the AT38 Pro: vocals with a physical presence, textured instruments and extraordinary intelligibility.

  • Graves
Woofer 38 cm with a paper diaphragm and an Eighteen Sound neodymium motor, operating at 30 Hz to 400 Hz.
Deep, fast and articulate bass, with real impact but without excess or delay.

Sound

The character of the AT38 Pro is frank, direct and very composed, but far from being harsh:

  • 98 dB sensitivity, which allows for a lively and dynamic reproduction even at low volume.

  • A deep, firm bass, without artificial “padding”.

  • Media that are remarkably present and natural, ideal for vocals, jazz, classical and acoustic music.

  • Extensive, well-integrated treble, without causing fatigue even during prolonged listening sessions.

It is a speaker that it does not impress through artifice, but rather for its coherence, authority and the sense of “real” music in the hall.

Room tuning: adjustable bass reflex

One of the AT38 Pro’s greatest strengths is its adjustable bass reflex port, which allows you to adapt the bass behaviour to the room and the placement.
