Description

Kinki Studio Taihang – Reference Power Conditioner

El Kinki Studio Taihang represents the culmination of years of research and refinement in the field of audiophile power supply. Designed by Ivan Liu, founder of Kinki Studio, this mains conditioner is the result of a philosophy combining science, precision and an obsession with detail: reducing any trace of electrical interference to unleash the full musical potential of a high-end audio system.

Its entire chassis of aerospace-grade titanium-aluminium alloy, with an iron-grey anodised finish, conveys a sense of solidity and refinement.

Each unit incorporates two groups of four independent AC outputs, capable of supplying up to 30 amps per group, with specific recommendations for separating digital and analogue equipment and preventing cross-interference.

Inside, the Taihang uses ShoonTH skirting boards and, in the version Deluxe, Furutech FI-03G inputs cryogenically treated at –196 °C, together with monocrystalline copper wiring and audiophile solder. Their adjustable metal feet allow for perfect levelling and exemplary vibration absorption.

Taihang Technology: four pillars of pure power

  • Dual electromagnetic cancellation: eliminates EMI interference and ensures a smooth and silent current.

  • DC absorption matrix: filters out the direct current components that distort the power supply.

  • Symmetrical expansion circuit: It maintains a stable, high-speed current supply.

  • Full cryogenic treatment: applied to connectors, cabling and critical components to ensure superior conductivity.

Each channel has its own toroidal transformer and a separate bank of capacitors Nichicon (30 × 3,300 µF per side), in a design true dual mono which completely separates the left and right tracks.

Sound: purity and naturalness

When listening, the Taihang delivers an immediate and noticeable improvement. The background turns black, the grain disappears and the the soundscape expands in breadth and depth, with a striking instrumental arrangement. Critics highlight a greater dynamism, vocal naturalness and tonal consistency, without any artificiality or compression. The music flows more freely, with cleaner, more three-dimensional textures, revealing the true essence of each recording.

International reviews are unanimous: the Taihang offers a more focused sound, with realistic vocals, deep bass and bright treble, elevating any system to a higher level of clarity and expressiveness. Its understated and refined aesthetic also makes it a component that It not only improves the sound, but also the visual appeal of the system.

With a exceptional value for money, the Taihang proves that electrical refinement is not a luxury, but an indispensable tool for achieving true high fidelity.

I've just received the Tai Hang from Kinki+ Vinshine and it's stunning. I can't talk about the pitch-black background the music emerges from that everyone talks about, because I've had tinnitus since I was 15. But it opens up the soundstage, isolates elements and significantly boosts the bass and mids. For the first time, I've heard instruments coming from the side walls (talk about jumping out of my skin). And above all, the music sounds the same all day long, whatever the time. My mains power supply is very poor, I'm at the end of the line, and that really affects equipment performance. This weekend has been spectacular, but today I left the gear switched on all day and it sounded just the same, as if it were Saturday night, just as detailed and deep. And I've hardly run it in yet. Another thing the unit has going for it is the peace of mind of being protected against power surges, which are frequent round here (we had two LED transformers blow this Christmas). In Valladolid I tried one of Lyric's units, but I wasn't paying much attention to it, focusing on the DAC and the streamer instead.

The addition of the Tahihang to the system has been a clear step forward in coherence and naturalness. It is not a dramatic change in the artificial sense of the word, but rather one of those improvements that becomes noticeable over the course of hours: more silence between notes, greater musical continuity and an overall sense of balance that makes everything fit together better.

The sound gains in clarity and stability, with a more settled and credible soundstage, especially in complex recordings or those with a lot of harmonic information. Nuances appear more easily, timbres are more organic and the music flows with less effort, as if the system were working in a more relaxed way.

It is one of those components that doesn't seek the limelight, but ends up being essential. Once integrated, it's hard to imagine the system without it. An honest product, well thought out and with a real impact on listening, especially for anyone who values long-term musicality over immediate effect.

The Kinki Studio Tahina is noticeable from the very first minute. Everything sounds cleaner, more orderly and calmer. The equipment runs more smoothly, the music flows better and nothing feels forced.
It doesn't stand out on its own, but when you remove it you miss it. A very good gadget that genuinely adds value, and what's more, it looks lovely in the flesh.
